"Non-Essential"

Art is Non-Essential.

Or so the majority of a group of Singaporeans published in a survey on the Straights Times local newspaper thinks so.

When asked to rank professions deemed 'most essential' from most to least, artists came in at last place, with 71% of the respondents vote.

This, of course, sparked an uproar among artists and the general public alike. Many saw this as a time to shine a light on many of the misconceptions surrounding the role of art and artists, especially in times like these.

Two of the artists to be showcased, Jason Lim and Wong Yik, Kester, share their thoughts on how it feels to be "Non-Essential"
